Journey Two: Spend a day exploring south & east of Westport taking in the Twelve Bens of Connemara, the lake country around Lough Corrib, and the ancient town of Cong. View Ashford Castle and walk on the grounds of Cong Abbey. Make sure to have a coffee and a crumble at Burke's Pub in Clonbur. This is the area where much of The Quiet Man was filmed and Lough Corrib is a world-renowned fishing destination. Be sure to check out the world-record bass on the wall in Burke's.
Journey Three: Head out north and then west of Westport. During the day, visit the Museum of Country Life (part of the National Museum of Ireland), and travel to Achill Island, climb Minaun Heights (in a car, of course), and take in the dramatic views on the Atlantic Drive. Be sure to stop at the Beehive on Achill for lunch and a crumble. Just can't get enough of the freshmade - super tart - mixed berry crumble- with warm custard sauce and a cappuccino , of course...
